An antivirus program is essential on all computers
and a computer that is online all the time, such as cable or
DSL, should have a firewall. An antispyware program is a big
help, it will catch a lot of spyware that gets by.

Firewalls
Sygate was always my favorite firewall.
Symantec (Norton) bought Sygate and discontinued it. The last
version can still be downloaded, one place I found is Tucows.
PC tools firewall seems to be a good one, I'm just starting to try
it out. And ZoneAlarm is a good one too. |
